Castleforge Granted Planning Approval For 1 Golden Lane
Our ambition for 1 Golden Lane is to create an inspirational hub that re-imagines what a workplace can be.
We are thrilled to today announce that we have been granted planning approval to begin the redevelopment of London’s Grade II listed 1 Golden Lane.
The refurbished and extended building will retain the original façade whilst offering over 116,000 sq ft of space which will be utilised as sustainable Grade A workspaces with a new community space in the heritage portion of the original Cripplegate Institute.
Sustainability is at the heart of our ambition for the project. We will be targeting BREEAM Outstanding environmental rating and will focus on adopting a circular economic model whenever possible, with the renovation project operating at Net-Zero.
The project’s integrated urban greening will include terraces and roof gardens designed by Chelsea Flower Show gold medallist Andy Sturgeon. The ground-floor community space will form part of the new ‘Culture Mile’, creating a learning destination and cultural district in the heart of the City of London.
Hawkins\Brown and Barr Gazetas will lead the architectural refurbishment and interior design for this project.
