Unanimous Show Of Support From Hackney Council’s Planning Committee – Haggerston Baths

Haggerston Baths interior 2

In a unanimous show of support, Hackney Council’s planning committee has adopted a resolution to grant planning consent, which will enable Castleforge to transform the historic Haggerston Baths in East London.

Since the Grade II-listed Edwardian bathhouse closed its doors in 2000, the building has fallen into disrepair. Our investment will focus on bringing the community back into the newly developed space, whilst conserving its most significant original heritage features.

Engaging with local residents has aided in our focus to deliver a positive community environment, which will centre around flexible office accommodation, a community café and event spaces within the historic pool hall.

Our plans will see the creation of 5,500 square metres of office space, a new six-storey brick extension, a café and a gym, and will allow public access during working hours at least 5 days a week.

We look forward to getting started on the rejuvenation of this iconic space, and restoring the once loved building into a vibrant and collaborative environment for all.
